Brewgrass Festival, Western North Carolina’s original craft beer festival, announced its 20th anniversary event will be held on September 17 at Memorial Stadium in Asheville. Over 55 breweries will offer a diverse assortment of national and regional craft beers against a backdrop of Bluegrass-infused music. Tickets for Brewgrass go on sale March 25. A full music lineup will be announced soon.

This year, Brewgrass Festival will host a kickoff party on March 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the newly renovated upstairs event space at Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria in Downtown Asheville. In celebration of the event’s 20th year, 100 tickets to the 2016 Brewgrass Festival will be sold for $20 each to the first 100 attendees (maximum one ticket per person). Music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Kipper. New Belgium Brewing will be pouring their exclusive Nitro Oscar Worthy Coffee beer, a very rare coffee sour, and Citradelic IPA all evening. This event is free to attend.

General Admission tickets go on sale March 25 for $55. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for $150 and will include a commemorative Brewgrass Festival lanyard; a Brewgrass Festival merchandise gift bag ($50 value); and access to the VIP Brewgrass Lounge featuring light catered fare, full beverage samples, and access to private bathrooms. Tickets for the event are highly sought after and consistently sell out. If general admission tickets are still available on the day of the event, they may be purchased at the gate for $65.

Founded in 1996, Brewgrass Festival is Asheville’s original craft beer event promoting local, regional, and national breweries while raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina. North Carolina is now home to over 100 breweries and brewpubs, and since those early days, Asheville has formed a burgeoning beer scene—even reigning as “Beer City USA” four years in a row.

Brewgrass Festival is proud to donate a portion of all proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, a United Way agency. The organization serves young people in Western North Carolina in over nine counties, matching children (ages 6-14) from single-parent families with caring, adult mentors
