The minds behind Orchids at Palm Court and Blank Slate Brewing Companyhave teamed up again to create a collaborative beer to be served in the acclaimed restaurant and The Bar at Palm Court located in Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. This is the fourth in a series of four beers created to accompany the season in which they are served and to incorporate culinary influences pertinent to that time of year.

The newest beer, entitled “Orchids Repose,” is a dry English style cranberry stout. “Winter means stout season here in the Midwest. We started with a drier English style stout to create a beer that is hearty, but not too filling. On top of that we used more than one pound of pureed cranberries per gallon in this beer to give it a subtle tart fruit character,” says, Scott LaFollette, proprietor, Blank Slate Brewing Company.

“We’ve had great success with our previous three beers and really look forward to moving into our winter beer ‘Repose.’ While most of the growing is dormant, this dry, cranberry English stout is a perfect reflection of the season,” says Todd Kelly, executive chef, Orchids at Palm Court, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.

Beginning January 21, “Orchids Bounty” is a draft only offering available in The Bar at Palm Court and Orchids at Palm Court in the hotel located at 35 W 5th Street. It will also be available for a limited time at the Blank Slate Brewing Company PourHouse located at 4233 Airport Road Unit C starting on that same day. A few kegs of “Orchids Repose” will find their way to other establishments around the city while supplies last.
