Just in time for the 2016 Olympics, Dallas-based Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar’s (Boston’s) non-profit organization, the Boston’s Pizza Foundation, announced the launch of its new Kid’s Cards program to raise funds for the Special Olympics. The new program will run until the end of August.

From now until August 31, Kid’s Cards can be purchased for a donation of $5 and are redeemable for five free kids’ meals at any Boston’s location until the end of the year. All proceeds from the sales of Kid’s Cards will benefit the Special Olympics, the world’s largest organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This marks the first partnership between the Boston’s Pizza Foundation and the Special Olympics. 

“The Special Olympics is unique in the way that it tracks funds closely to ensure they end up back in the communities where they were donated from, so it’s great to know that our efforts will directly circle back to the communities participating in the fundraiser,” says Troy Cooper, chief operating officer of Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. “We’re honored to partner with a world-wide organization focused around community and inclusion, regardless of ability or disability.” 

The new Kid’s Cards program is part of a larger initiative at Boston’s aimed at enhancing its environment for children. Going on year round, the Boston’s Kids Program features kid-friendly menu items, mobile applications, a 3D-augmented reality game and other collectable items.

“Our restaurants are focused on offering a family-friendly dining experience, and in order to do so we have launched many children-inspired programs,” adds Brad Bevill, vice president of marketing for Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. “Our new Kid’s Card program is sure to create positive experience for the family and keep them coming back time and time again.” 

Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar’s U.S. operations are based in Dallas and the company currently has 29 locations operating in 22 states.
