Major renovations have begun at the flagship Scotty’s Brewhouse located at 3905 East 96th St. in Indianapolis. Work began over the last few weeks and will continue until the grand reopening planned for September.
“The restaurant needed a major update after seven years in business on the north side of Indianapolis,” says Scott Wise, president and CEO of a Pots & Pans Production, the management company for Scotty’s Brewhouse, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., C3 Bar, and Scotty’s Brew Club. “We are spending upwards of $600,000 on this remodel.”
Wise says the renovation project will include the following: the walls in the center of the restaurant will be removed to open up the space, the bar will be completely ripped out and redesigned, all 65 TV’s are being replaced with new ones, all tables and chairs will be brand new, all new lighting is being added, a garage door will be added on the side of the building giving patrons easier access to the newly expanded patio with couches and a new gas fire pit. Outside, the awnings and signage will be replaced as Scotty’s Brewhouse on 96th Street will be the first location to tap into more than 30 draft beer lines. This location will now have 48 different flavors of local craft beer to choose from. They are also installing a new Crowler canning machine. Part can part growler, the Crowler is a 32 ounce can filled with your choice of Thr3e Wise Men beer from the tap, blown out with CO2 and sealed on site while guests wait.
This approach allows for a more economical version without having to buy the glass growler and the beer can stay fresh for more than 30 days. Along with the updated look of the restaurant, Wise says he will also be expanding the menu with the addition of a pizza oven, allowing Thr3e Wise Men’s signature homemade dough and sauce thin and crispy pizzas to be offered.
In addition to the Northside renovation, Scotty’s will open the much anticipated Noblesville Scotty’s Brewhouse, located at 14741 Hazel Dell Crossing. This location will open to the public on August 24. Wise also spent $200,000 remodeling their downtown location by adding TVs, remodeling the bar area, adding new seating and adding a pizza oven as well. And, Wise is spending $300,000 to remodel their Muncie location in September by adding all of these same elements, including the biggest change in their original location –adding a liquor bar and a three-way permit for cocktails. Since 1996, Scotty’s in Muncie has only offered beer or wine.
