On January 18, Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries will open its doors to customers at the new Steele Creek location in Charlotte, North Carolina, at 4847 Shopton Road. This is the eighth Hwy 55 restaurant in the area, with 50 new locations planned in North Carolina over the next 10 years.

"Steele Creek is nestled in the southwest part of Charlotte, which is one of the largest and fastest growing areas in Mecklenburg County," says Erika Robinson, one of the Hwy 55 franchisees for North Carolina, who also owns the Hwy 55 at University Pointe. "This area was rural farmland until the 2000s. And even with the close proximity to Charlotte it still has a family-friendly feeling, so we're confident Hwy 55's dedication to authentic hospitality will fit right in."

Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries boasts a fresh, All-American diner experience with fresh, never-frozen burgers, premium sliced cheesesteaks piled high on steamed hoagies, and frozen custard made in-house every day. With its open-grill design, the kitchen's dedication and care when handcrafting meals is front and center.

"We chose the Steele Creek area of Charlotte because the widening of 49, the replacement of the old Buster Boyd Bridge, and the opening of I-485, which has spurred tremendous growth in both residential and commercial development."

In keeping with Hwy 55’s continued mission to give back to the communities it enters, the restaurant chain’s charitable organization, The Andy’s Foundation and the Steele Creek franchise owners will donate 10 percent of sales for the first five days open to New Hope Group Homes, an organization that supports at-risk Charlotte youth with severe emotional and behavioral challenges.
