Shoney's is saying thank you, happy holidays, and merry Christmas again this year with its annual National Free Hot Fudge Cake Day, on December 6.

Once again, the iconic All-American brand, America's Dinner Table for nearly 70 years, will offer its signature and most popular dessert at no cost and with no purchase required to its loyal fans and new guests. Shoney's famous Hot Fudge Cake has been a brand staple since 1947 and has played a key role in the brand's recent resurgence.

"Just like Shoney's itself, 'National Free Hot Fudge Cake Day' has become an American tradition and we are proud to treat our coveted regulars and new guests to this delicious Hot Fudge Cake," says Shoney's Chairman and CEO David Davoudpour. "Shoney's serves more than 2 million Hot Fudge Cakes each year, but on December 6, all day, at every Shoney's it will be 'on the house.'"

Since acquiring the great American eatery in 2007, Davoudpour has been on a driven and spirited mission to reinvigorate and revitalize Shoney's, a family-friendly, southern-style restaurant brand. Shoney's is one of the first and has always been one of the most popular family casual dining concepts in the U.S.

"Our mission is to be the best family dining restaurant in America. We are a new Shoney's, better than ever, but we cherish our roots and our Hot Fudge Cake is a big part of that," adds Davoudpour. "Every day at Shoney's folks can enjoy our fresh quality food at a great value with friendly service.  And once a year, we treat America to our delicious Hot Fudge Cake as our way of saying Thank You, Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas to everyone."

In order to get back to what Mr. Davoudpour confidently calls Shoney's "Glory Days," the brand is now growing through franchising following an extensive revitalization effort. Shoney's is offering franchising opportunities to qualified single and multi-unit candidates.
