Balboa Bay Resort Hires Vic Casanova as Executive Chef

Balboa Bay Resort, Newport Beach’s premiere waterfront resort, announced the appointment of Vic Casanova as its new Executive Chef. Drawing upon over two decades of culinary experience, Chef Vic will oversee the Resort’s culinary portfolio, including banquets and catering, café, and two restaurants, A&O Kitchen+Bar and Waterline Newport Beach.

Cafe Clover, Clover Grocery Introduce Name Garrison Price Executive Chef

The team behind the popular health-focused, West Village restaurant Café Clover, announced Garrison Price—formerly of Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria—as its new Executive Chef. Chef Price introduces an entirely re-concepted dinner menu that marries his experience working with a range of international cuisine with the seasonal, local, and healthful approach for which Café Clover is known.

Patrick O’Connell to Receive James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award

The James Beard Foundation announced that Patrick O’Connell, a five-time James Beard Award winner, 3-star Michelin chef, author, and owner of The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, Virginia, has been named the recipient of the 2019 James Beard Lifetime Achievement award; and Giving Kitchen, the non-profit organization providing stability for some of the most hard-working and vulnerable members of the food service community, has been named the recipient of the 2019 James Beard Humanitarian of the Year award.
