The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s Chef & Child is partnering with Vitamix to help inspire chefs to host Childhood Nutrition Day activities throughout the month of October. Vitamix has pledged to donate personal household blenders to the first 50 chefs who register and follow through on their commitments to host nutrition events.

American Culinary Federation (ACF) chefs across the nation celebrate Childhood Nutrition Day on October 16 by hosting awareness events during the month of October in an effort to educate kids and families about proper nutrition. Chefs often incorporate Vitamix blenders in their nutrition activities, which range from cooking classes to demonstrations to hands-on smoothie making.

“ACF chefs are passionate about helping children learn how to please their palates while nourishing their bodies,” says Ira Fingerman, chair, ACFEF Chef & Child Foundation. “A Vitamix blender will help chefs achieve their goal of teaching children in their communities about proper nutrition.”

Vitamix has been promoting the benefits of whole food nutrition since the 1930s and engineered its blenders with the power and versatility to turn whole fruits and vegetables into delicious dishes with silky-smooth consistency.

“Put some fruit in a Vitamix, toss in some spinach and kale, and you’ve got a green smoothie packed with nutrients that tastes absolutely amazing,” says Jodi Berg, president and CEO for Vitamix. “I’ve seen kids go from saying they hate vegetables to actually craving them.”

Chefs can register to host events, as well as download activity toolkits and event promotion templates, at www.acfchefs.org/childhoodnutritionday. The first 50 chefs to sign up and commit to hosting an event will receive a machine from the Vitamix Certified Reconditioned Standard series, backed by a Vitamix five-year full warranty.
