LongHorn Steakhouse is recognizing America's first responders for dedicating their lives' work to helping others and their devotion to assisting those in need.

On Oct. 6, all firefighters, police officers, and Emergency Medical Service workers will enjoy a complimentary appetizer from LongHorn's Bold Bites menu. Additionally, from Sept. 29 through Oct. 12, all LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants nationwide will deliver meals to a local first responder organization in each of their communities.

"LongHorn Steakhouse is a place that appreciates and supports those who make a positive impact in their communities," says Valerie Insignares, president of LongHorn Steakhouse. "First responders put themselves in harm's way every day to protect their fellow citizens, and we are honored to celebrate their dedication and thank them for their commitment to serving others."

LongHorn invites guests to share their appreciation for First Responders by purchasing a limited time First Responders eGift Card from Sept. 29 through Oct. 6. LongHorn will donate 10 percent of eGift Card sales during this time to the American Red Cross to further its mission of providing emergency assistance, disaster relief, and preparedness education across the United States.

"We appreciate the effort from LongHorn Steakhouse and its customers to recognize our nation's first responders," says Linda Jorge Carbone, Red Cross regional CEO, Florida's West Coast Region. "We're grateful for their support of the American Red Cross in recognition of all that the Red Cross does to support those responders and disaster relief."
