Arizona Cocktail Week, the Southwest’s premier event for hospitality professionals and cocktail enthusiasts, launched its first Cocktail Contest, giving bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts a chance to create one-of-a-kind cocktail with a Southwest theme.
The winner’s entry will be crowned the Official Cocktail of Arizona Cocktail Week, which is held February 17—24, and the winning cocktail will be featured on a menu during Arizona Cocktail Week’s special events. The winner will flown out to Arizona to participate in the week’s festivities, along with accommodations at Scottsdale’s AAA Four diamond award winning Hotel Valley Ho.
The cocktail must include the following:
Southwest theme
A Chili pepper
No more than six ingredients
Base spirit (no more than 1.5 oz.)

Cocktails will be judged on Originality/Creativity, Appearance, Aroma, Taste and Balance. All entries must be received by January 15.

Notable industry leading mixologists will judge the top five finalists and pick the winner on January 19.
Arizona Cocktail Week, now in its sixth year, is a week-long celebration of the craft of the cocktail that includes everything from parties, spirit tastings, and educational seminars, to cocktail competitions, drinks specials and dinners.
The vast majority of the main events take place at the Hotel Valley Ho, in downtown Scottsdale, and in the general vicinity of the hotel. Events are also planned at various locations in downtown Phoenix and in Tucson. Restaurant activations are planned throughout the week in the Phoenix Metro area.
