Bazati is now open inside the Common Ground development along the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. The 7,000-square-foot space is housed inside a 1940s industrial warehouse and will serve as a destination for lounging, sipping, shopping, reading and dining. Bazati features a chic eatery, The Brasserie, evoking 1920s Paris, as well as eight specialty retail shops. Atop Bazati is a rooftop restaurant and bar called Estrella.

The Brasserie

With both indoor and outdoor seating, The Brasserie is a place where guests can enjoy coffee and a pastry for breakfast, a drink at one of two bars, or classic brasserie fare for lunch and dinner. The menu features authentic plates such as steak frites, croque monsieur, duck confit and coq au vin. To drink, there is a selection of well-curated, mostly French wines and a cocktail program rooted in Paris’ années folles era (think French 75s and Boulevardiers). Chef Remi Granger, formerly of Bread & Butterfly, helms the kitchen.

With soaring, 23-foot ceilings and handsome tones of navy, tan and gray, The Brasserie is sophisticated and relaxed, an all-day place. Custom imported furniture from Europe and Latin America includes Parisian-style cafe tables and a comfortable lounge area. Guests entering from the BeltLine will be greeted by The Brasserie’s forthcoming 3,000-square-foot patio and garden with seating for dining and drinking al fresco.

Shops

Inside Bazati, the open space offers the feeling of a chic hotel lobby with soft seating throughout, allowing visitors to lounge and imbibe as an extension of The Brasserie. Specialty shops are a source for stylish, travel-minded items to take home or gift, many of which are uniquely available in Georgia at Bazati. Offerings include flowers from The Fleur Shop, books from TASCHEN, artisanal Yucatecan textiles from Taller Maya, leather goods from Blumarino, handcrafted sunglasses from Bamboo Life and more. Operated and owned by hospitality group The Diligence Company, Bazati is the culmination of many years of planning and extensive research of products.

Estrella

On the roof of Bazati is Estrella, a Yucatecan-inspired cocktail club and restaurant overlooking the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. Estrella features a buzzing open-air bar, umbrella seating and a lush list of bubbly and classic Latin cocktails, such as Hemingway daiquiris and pisco sours.

One of Mexico’s most highly regarded chefs, Roberto Solis created the Yucatecan menu, and Chef Cam Floyd helms Estrella’s kitchen as chef de cuisine. Floyd spent time learning Yucatecan cooking techniques and mastering each recipe at Solis’ acclaimed Nectar in Merida, which is considered by many as one of Mexico’s finest and most innovative eateries.

Solis’ cooking techniques are influenced by the region he calls home, with traditional staples transformed by fresh and surprising ingredients, such as flowers, herbs and spices. Guests can enjoy shareable small plates and main dishes rooted in Mexican specialties, such as ceviche and adobo chicken and regional Yucatecan specialties, including cochinita spring rolls and chayitas. Wines and spirits will reflect and marry these innovative flavors, from sparkling wines to Latin cocktails.

Inspired by its name, meaning “star” in Spanish, Estrella dazzles in the carefree style of mid-century Miami and the modernity of present-day Merida. Guests lounging among the space’s soft outdoor seating can enjoy Latin strains and Atlanta’s only gin and tonic tableside cart—all offered against an outdoor backdrop with stunning, skyline views. Estrella is open Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 4 p.m., with Latin brunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting soon.
