Ben E. Keith Company announced the purchase of 89 acres in Selma, Texas, in Comal County, for the purposes of a new distribution center. 

The new distribution center will be located in northwest Selma at the intersection of Schertz Parkway and Lookout Road, with construction to begin immediately.  The company plans to build a 510,000 square foot LEED Certified facility to be completed by the fall of 2018, and will include such features as an Automatic Slotting and Retrieval System, a modern test kitchen, and training center.

Keith Foods.

Ben E. Keith Company entered into economic development agreements with both Comal County, as well as the City of Selma. The agreements included property tax abatements, job creation requirements, and facility minimums.

Portions of the agreements included: A total of 537 jobs to be created by 2025, with a minimum payroll of $38,500,000, as well as a completion date of the facility by 2019.
