This Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2011, participating Bob Evans Restaurants will donate 10 cents for every hotcake sold, up to $25,000, to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Foundation’s “Return the Favor” campaign. “Return the Favor” honors, celebrates, and supports active-duty military, veterans, and their families.

The Veteran’s Day promotion is part of Bob Evans’ new “Bob Evans Salutes America” program, honoring military families on four patriotic holidays, including Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Independence Day.

In an effort to help reach their $25,000 donation goal, Bob Evans is asking guests to join together with hundreds of thousands of Americans to return the favor to our nation’s veterans and dine on the restaurant’s famous hotcakes.

“We’re proud to partner with such an outstanding organization as the VFW and return the favor through our Bob Evans Salutes America initiative,” says Randy Hicks, Bob Evans president and chief concept officer. “Bob Evans Restaurants were born from our founder’s passion toward community, family, and homestyle food. It’s only fitting that we honor the men and women who fight to protect this country’s communities and families by donating proceeds of one of our most popular menu items, our hotcakes.”

Dollars donated will benefit Return the Favor Foundation’s programs and services, which provide emergency financial assistance for military families, free phone calls for deployed troops, VIP treatment for service members and their families at entertainment events, morale-boosting events for military units, and critical services that guide veterans through VA entitlement claims.
