Katherine Goldfaden, Director of Marketing of LM Restaurants, announced March 12 that the Carolina Ale House raised $22,000 for the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation (KNCF) during the 2013 Hearts for the Hurricanes campaign.

All 11 N.C.-based Carolina Ale House (CAH) restaurants were challenged to sell hearts and magnets to benefit KNCF during the month of February. This year’s totals exceed last year’s donation by nearly $1,000. Doug Warf, Vice President of Marketing for the Carolina Hurricanes and Executive Director of the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, was thrilled. “This kind of gift makes a great impact in the communities in which Carolina Ale Houses are located.”

Giving back to its local communities is a critical mission of the CAH family of restaurants. In 2012, CAH donated over $150,000 in resources, food, and monetary funds to organizations and individuals in need throughout N.C. “I am proud of our teams and the support of our customers during this year’s campaign,” says Doug Besser, Director of Operations of Carolina Ale House. “We hope to add another $6,000 to this year’s donation through Points for Kids.” Points for Kids is a program in which Carolina Ale House donates $100 for each point the Canes earn in the standings.

KNCF is a youth-focused organization that works to provide organizational and financial assistance to area youth programs.
