The James Beard Foundation (JBF) recently announced that chef Deborah VanTrece, of Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours, will be cooking at the landmark James Beard House on Friday, June 28, 2019 for their annual Cheers, Queers dinner.

Beginning with a fundraising dinner cooked by Wolfgang Puck in early 1987, the James Beard House has become a milestone in the careers of chefs including Tom Colicchio, Marcus Samuelsson, Nancy Silverton, and Dominique Crenn.

“I’m so excited to be traveling back to the James Beard House for the second annual Cheers, Queers cocktail celebration. It is such an honor to work alongside so many brilliant chefs who embrace the beauty of individuality and diversity in their cuisine,” VanTrece says.

Cheers, Queers is a cocktail celebration held every June during New York City’s Gay Pride celebration month.

VanTrece has visited the James Beard House multiple times during her 25-year culinary career. In 2018, she was chosen to participate in the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour dinner series and the first Cheers, Queers cocktail celebration. She has also presented her Cast Iron Chronicles series at the James Beard House and, this past month, represented Georgia Grown Chefs in a regional spotlight dinner.
