Chef John Currence Opens Big Bad Breakfast in Homewood
The most important meal of the day just got a whole lot better for residents in Homewood. Big Bad Breakfast, the from-scratch restaurant by acclaimed Chef John Currence officially opened its newest outpost in Homewood, Alabama. This fourth location of the heralded breakfast restaurant—existing locations include Oxford, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama; and Inlet Beach, Florida—is designed to bring Currence’s take on high quality, expertly crafted breakfast and lunch meals to the growing Homewood community.
Highly regarded for its elevated take on breakfast, Big Bad Breakfast delivers a casual and laid-back atmosphere to accompany the best-in-class cuisine. Located in the heart of downtown Homewood, patrons will experience a rejuvenated take on breakfast with Big Bad Breakfast favorites like the house-cured Tabasco/Brown Sugar Bacon, Ice Box Cold Brew Coffee and regional staples including Hero Donuts and locally baked breads from Continental Bakery alongside a few surprises like the famed John Currence Shrimp and Grits.
Housed just half a block away from Highway 31, the new Big Bad Breakfast shares a renovated space with the Red Lion Lounge and includes designs by Square Studio and an interior design collaboration between owners Mary Clayton Carland and Garlan Gudger, of Southern Accents in Cullman, AL.
“We’re thrilled to be welcomed by the residents of Homewood and to have the chance to “make breakfast great again” in this exciting neighborhood,” says owner John Currence. “This town has a great sense of community, and we’re humbled by the success of our other locations, and honored to bring the fourth location of Big Bad Breakfast here to Homewood.”
The grand opening of Big Bad Breakfast will be Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018, and daily service hours will be 7:00am – 3:00pm.
