Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar is heading to the Northshore, opening its first Covington, Louisiana, location on Monday, September. 25.

The new restaurant, located at 69796 Stirling Blvd. near Sam’s Club, will open at 11 a.m. on Monday. This will mark the 12th Walk-On’s in Louisiana and the 15th system-wide.

The celebration begins with a VIP night Saturday, September 23, beginning at 7 p.m. During the pre-opening celebration, Walk-On’s will present a $5,000 donation to Angels’ Place—a local non-profit that provides on-going care and support to children with life-threatening diseases. The pre-opening event is invitation-only.

Love football? On opening day, September 25, between 4-6 p.m., Walk-On’s will be giving one lucky winner a pair of tickets to a New Orleans Saints game. What better way to watch Drew Brees, Walk-On’s All-Pro co-owner, in action?

Covington’s first Walk-On’s will be led by a true Louisianan. General Manager Brandon Mier has lived in the Northshore area for 30 years and is the son-in-law of late New Orleans Saints running back Hokie Gajan.

“I can’t tell you how proud and excited I am to introduce Walk-On’s to our city,” says Mier. “We’ve assembled an awesome crew of about 200 and we’re all looking forward to becoming an integral part of the community. Our menu features some of the best food you’ll find anywhere and our game-day atmosphere is perfect for sports fans of all ages.”

Walk-On’s is renowned for its signature menu featuring a taste of Louisiana served up in a game-day atmosphere by America’s Cheerleaders, who make sure every guest feels welcome.

“Everyone knows Louisianans love great food, and we’re incredibly proud of our innovative, award-winning menu at Walk-On’s,” says Scott Taylor, president & COO of Walk-On’s Enterprises. “The new Covington restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and I know Brandon and his team can’t wait to show locals and visitors alike just how great ‘a taste of Louisiana’ can be.”

The Covington location will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Walk-On’s now has 15 locations: four in Baton Rouge, two in New Orleans and one each in Lafayette, Houma, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Covington and Bossier City, La., and Lubbock, San Antonio and Tyler, Texas. Other locations are coming soon in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas, with several additional markets across the Southern U.S. likewise on the drawing board.

In May 2015, Saints superstar Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany, bought into Walk-On’s Enterprises as co-owners. Drew pointed out that Walk-On’s is “a great place to bring my family, teammates and business colleagues” and that they were excited to help “expand the brand across the nation.”
