NuTek Food Science, a leader in health & wellness focused food ingredient solutions, announced a strategic partnership with Diamond Crystal Brands, a leader in Foodservice meal solutions, to introduce Salt for Life products into Foodservice.

Salt for Life is an alternative salt that combines sodium salt with NuTek’s revolutionary potassium salt. Through this combination, Salt for Life improves the nutritional profiles of all foods by dramatically lowering sodium and offering potassium, an essential and widely underconsumed nutrient. Salt for Life can seamlessly replace existing common salt without sacrificing taste, food safety, or functionality. This clean label, GMO Free and naturally sourced blend is available in canisters for back-of-house usage by Chefs, and individual sticks for front-of-house use by health-conscious patrons. Diamond Crystal Brands will produce, distribute, and market these products in foodservice.

“Hypertension is a massive and growing health problem globally. Salt for Life addresses BOTH of the essential elements for optimum blood pressure and cardiovascular health by reducing sodium and increasing potassium,” says Brian Boor, chief operating officer of NuTek Food Science. “Salt for Life tastes like salt and performs like salt because it is salt. By using Salt for Life, Chefs and Foodservice operators now have the option to dramatically improve their patron’s health without sacrificing taste. We are extremely excited to partner with Diamond Crystal Brands in extending this revolutionary solution to the Foodservice marketplace.”

“We know that Foodservice operators are looking for solutions to address the healthy lifestyles of their guests,” says Tony Muscato, CEO of Diamond Crystal Brands. “Diamond Crystal Brands aims to be at the forefront of these conversations by offering value added solutions into the Foodservice channel. Salt for Life is a fantastic addition to our company’s portfolio.”

Salt for Life will be available to Foodservice operators this spring.
