DMAC Architecture, one of Chicagoland’s premier architecture firms, continues its partnership with Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, the Chicago-based fresh, casual dining concept, with the opening of the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, location. Combining the company’s “focus on fresh, house-made and mindfully sourced dishes” and a timeless approach to design, the restaurant evokes feelings of mid-century nostalgia and a sense of community.

Under the creative direction of Principal and Founder, Dwayne MacEwen, DMAC is behind the minimalistic design of Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen Fort Lauderdale, distinguished by its warm and approachable atmosphere and accommodating dining experience. With the structure resembling an open shell, there also is a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Featuring a contemporary bar and dining room clad in walnut wood, the interior seats up to 150 guests and is framed by an open kitchen with classically elegant white marble framing. Glass windows encompass the interior spaces on three sides, giving way to an outdoor terrace with capacity for an additional 80 guests.

From the seamless flow of the interior and exterior, to the unique elements bringing the space to life, DMAC’s design and strategic material choices for the newest Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen create an evocative atmosphere. Perfectly paired with the culinary experience, both the design and menu aim to satisfy the reinvention of a shared, community-oriented atmosphere.

“With every Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen location, we leverage our holistic approach to architecture and push the boundaries to truly impact the guest experience. While similar in design, each restaurant boasts its own style with interior elements and decor inspired by the region and neighborhood surrounding it,” says MacEwen of DMAC. “Fresh, casual dining is the core of Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, and we keep this top of mind through all stages, creating transparent, honest spaces where diners remember much more than the food.”

With four Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen locations under its belt and additional locations slated for 2018 in Texas and Florida, DMAC looks forward to redefining fresh casual dining through design.
