Ed and Adam Sbragia, third and fourth generation Dry Creek Valley winemakers of Sbragia Family Vineyards, have released a new wine: 2012 Gino’s Zinfandel.

A thoughtful blend of three vineyards, Gino’s Estate, La Promessa Estate, and Italo’s, the 2012 Gino’s Zinfandel is the essence of Ed’s legacy in Dry Creek Valley and his family’s passion for a varietal first planted here in 1869.

“This is the wine I drink at home,” says Ed Sbragia. “For 32 years, I drove to Napa and made Cabernet and Chardonnay, but when I came home to Sonoma, we always drank Zinfandel.”

This wine honors Ed’s father, Gino, and reflects Ed’s commitment to carrying the legacy forward.

“There is a time-honored tradition of blending in Dry Creek Valley,” says fourth generation winemaker Adam Sbragia. “It starts in the vineyard, with field blends of Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah and other varieties. And it continues in the winery, blending different vineyards to produce a wine with classic Dry Creek character. 2012 Gino’s Zinfandel is a clear example of my Dad’s and my collaboration. It’s the first time we’ve blended these three vineyards together, and they are the vineyards closest to our family.”
