It's the whole enchilada…and more! El Fenix Mexican Restaurants will celebrate the chain's 93rd Anniversary by offering its signature enchilada plate (two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans) for just 93 cents all day Wednesday, September 21, at its landmark location at 1601 McKinney in Dallas.

Customers can also go to any of the 20 El Fenix restaurants throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area for a Buy One-Get One free coupon for future purchases while supplies last.

Recently honored for "Best Tex-Mex" and "Best Margaritas" in the 2011 "Best of D" Reader's Choice Awards from D Magazine, El Fenix is using its 93rd anniversary to do some gift-giving in return, enchilada-style.

"We owe our success to our customers," says Mike Karns, CEO of El Fenix. "They are the reason El Fenix has grown and prospered over the decades to become such a historic and delicious part of North Texas. This is our way of saying thank you."

Tracing the company's roots back to the 19th century, a 93-cent enchilada plate is a tasty way to celebrate an incredible Tex-Mex heritage and the loyal customers who keep it going.

El Fenix began thanks to the ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit of Mexican immigrant Miguel Martinez. He traveled to Dallas after the onset of the Mexican Revolution, started a cafe and, over time, began offering tastes of Mexican cuisine to his customers. Martinez 's menu became the cornerstone of his first Mexican restaurant, El Fenix. He later became a U.S. citizen, and his business became a local treasure.
