For one night only, diners are invited to experience a culinary treat from three South Walton chefs as they takeover a few of Atlanta’s top restaurants. Each guest chef will showcase a taste of the Gulf, presenting one off-menu special that highlights flavors exclusive to the beaches of South Walton. Courtesy of Northwest Florida’s official tourism bureau, Visit South Walton, chef Gregg Smith (of Surfing Deer), chef Jim Richard (of Stinky’s Fish Camp), and chef Dan Vargo (of Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa) will make appearances at KR SteakBar, Canoe, and ARNETTE’S Chop Shop, respectively, to showcase South Walton’s vast culinary landscape.

KR SteakBar will welcome chef Gregg Smith of Surfing Deer into its kitchen. An intimate neighborhood restaurant and bar, KR SteakBar serves a menu of Italian fare with an emphasis on prime steaks. Previously of the The Pearl Hotel and George’s at Alys Beach, chef Gregg Smith is the driving force behind of one of Santa Rosa’s newest dining destinations, the Surfing Deer, and Seagrove Village Market. On August 15, KR SteakBar diners can expect a signature dish representative of Smith’s innovative fare and taste for adventure. To make a reservation, please visit KR SteakBar online at http://www.krsteakbar.com/ and note that dinner service will be business as usual.

With recognition from Bon Appétit, Food and Wine, The New York Times and more, Canoe is Atlanta’s getaway for quintessential fine dining. Tucked away, not far away, Canoe is perfectly placed alongside the peaceful banks of the Chattahoochee River. On August 15, the restaurant’s executive chef Matt Basford will host chef Jim Richard of Stinky’s Fish Camp. Chef Richard boasts years of culinary experience, serving as the founder of Word of Mouth Restaurant Group which includes Blue Mountain Catering Company, Stinky’s Fish Camp, and the award-winning Trenasse. With dishes that rely heavily on the daily catch and a passion for wine, his minimalistic cuisine continues to delight South Walton locals and tourists alike. Reservations may be made for Canoe’s dining room online at www.canoeatl.com, and guests can opt to dine alfresco to enjoy Gulf seafood while embracing the rolling river views of the Chattahoochee. Dinner service will be business as usual.

Finally, ARNETTE’S Chop Shop invites award-winning chef Dan Vargo of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa into its Brookhaven kitchen. A modern expression of the classic American steakhouse, ARNETTE’S Chop Shop provides a haven for prime meats in an interior that compliments the industrial modern design movement. The restaurant is eager to host chef Vargo, who previously honed his skills via the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood (a AAA Four-Diamond restaurant), and The Boathouse Club in Martha’s Vineyard. Since February of 2017, Vargo has helmed the kitchen of the 602-room beachfront resort, which has been featured on “Emeril’s Florida,” “Atlanta Eats” and Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” with Matt Ginella. On August 15, guests can expect a signature dish of organic produce and seasonal seafood, highlighting flavors exclusive to the Florida coast. As a ‘thank you,’ diners at all three restaurants will receive a branded Tervis tumbler, courtesy of Visit South Walton. Based out of Florida, Tervis drinkware embraces the spirit of the sunshine life and all the outdoor activities the South has to offer.
