Attendance was up at GlobalShop, the world’s largest annual event for shopper-facing retail design, technology, and in-store marketing. Held in Chicago at McCormick Place from March 27-29, 2018, GlobalShop welcomed more than 10,000 attendees including retailers, consumer product companies, and retail designers and architects.

More than 540 brands specializing in store design, visual merchandising, retail technology and shopper marketing exhibited at the three-day event. The GlobalShop conference, which ran concurrently with the trade show, covered a multitude of topics and featured industry experts focused on sharing their insight on pressing topics in commercial design including leveraging virtual reality and building impactful retail experiences.

Recently, GlobalShop announced it will co-locate with the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE), the world’s largest e-commerce event, and RFID Journal LIVE!, the world’s only RFID event dedicated specifically to retail application next June 25-27, 2019 in Chicago, to create RetailX. This new mega-event will see these three distinct shows converge with the singular purpose of holistically serving the retail industry; from e-commerce and store design to technology and innovation, RetailX is expected to welcome more than 20,000 attendees and upwards of 1,200 exhibiting brands. “We are particularly satisfied with this year’s turn out, which reinforces that brick and mortar retail is still experiencing innovation in both technology and design,” says Doug Hope, GlobalShop Show Founder. “We look forward to seeing GlobalShop come together under the RetailX umbrella and anticipate the mega event will become the must-attend show for anyone who is involved in the retail trade.”
