Godfather’s Pizza fans in the Salt Lake City area will head into 2017 with a new, favorite pizza place. The first, full-service restaurant is set to open January 16 at 10949 South Redwood Road in Suite 200, just 17 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City and walking distance from central South Jordan. The grand opening will follow on January 21.
New franchisees Deb and Tim Tilley of Phoenix’s Pizza, LLC are constructing a new outdoor shopping center—Falcon’s Plaza—which will include Godfather’s Pizza. As residents for more than 25 years and business owners in South Jordan, the Tilleys have been part of the city’s growth and were among the first three graduating classes at Bingham High School.
The first Godfather’s Pizza location in the area opened in 1978, but until the South Jordan location opens, the only store to remain in the area—and the state—is in Taylorsville. Godfather’s Pizza will bring 75 new jobs, while the new Falcon’s Plaza will bring approximately 175 jobs combined. Godfather’s Pizza is currently hiring to fill all positions. The Tilleys also signed a multi-unit area development agreement, which means even more Godfather’s Pizza is coming to Utah.
“I looked at five or six franchises, but Godfather’s Pizza was our all-time favorite,” says owner Deb Tilley. “I love the chicken—it’s delicious—and I think that’s what separates Godfather’s Pizza from the others.”
The traditional location also will offer online ordering, a party room for 36 for a combined 135 person total capacity, catering and a buffet of pizzas and mouth-watering Broaster Chicken. Delivery will be added at a later date. The four-part buffet includes stations dedicated to one-of-a-kind signature specialty pizzas like the Taco Pie, Classic Combo and Humble Pie, chicken and sides, salad and desserts. Combo meals, Kids Meals, Wings, Cheesesticks, a To-Go Salad Bar, Monkey Bread, Big Chocolate Chip Cookie and Dessert Streusels can be also be added to any order or purchased a la carte.
The site of the next location is being determined. More details for the next location and Grand Opening in South Jordan will be announced at a later date.
