In anticipation of the college basketball tournament, Charlotte-based Hickory Tavern is giving away free Chips & Queso on March 16 and March 17.
Also on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) only, Hickory Tavern will introduce its very own, adult version of a popular and iconic seasonal shake. The Tavern’s version is called the Green Gorilla. It’s a thick vanilla shake with three different kinds of rum and a drop of green food coloring to give it some St. Patrick’s Day swagger ($5.95). Hickory Tavern will also feature traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage all day long on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
“Hickory Tavern is nestled right in the middle of basketball country so we’re the best place to play hooky and watch March Insanity,” says Hickory Tavern CMO Thom Perez. “So, for anyone already feeling the ‘Hooping Cough’ coming on, we’ve got the perfect excuse, er uh, I mean a prescription waiting on you. We’ll see you this Thursday and Friday when the tournament kicks into high gear with free Chips & Queso, Corned Beef and Cabbage and our Green Gorilla waiting for you.”
Hickory Tavern’s offer of free Chips & Queso is valid in-restaurant only and requires the note which can be obtained anytime through March 15. There is a limit of one appetizer per table per visit and other restrictions may apply.
