Hobart CLeN Conveyor Washer Earns Kitchen Innovation Award
Featuring cost- and energy-saving innovations combined with advanced cleaning, the new Hobart CLeN conveyor line has earned a prestigious Kitchen Innovation (KI) Award from the National Restaurant Association (NRA).
The Hobart CLeN Warewasher Energy Recovery is among 18 products selected by the NRA as recipients of the 2017 KI Awards, each designated for the honor because of technologies that increase efficiencies and productivity for back-of-the-house operations. Using industry-leading technology to clean dishes and kitchen ware in less time and at a lower cost of operation, the Hobart CLeN Energy Recovery features Drain Water Energy Recovery (DWER) that provides up to 20 percent energy savings over the CLe series.
“The CLeN Energy Recovery showcases the Hobart mission of helping customers experience greater efficiency, reliability and cost savings with their dishwashing equipment,” says Tim Peters, product line manager for Hobart. “Key to that is the DWER technology, which not only helps restaurant operators reduce water and energy consumption, but achieve a better, overall clean.”
The DWER technology on the CLeN Energy Recovery raises the bar for warewashing operations by increasing energy efficiency while reducing water consumption. It works by capturing the heat from exiting drain water and using it to heat incoming cold water prior to being heated by the booster. This feature allows the machine to run on cold water, reducing hot water usage up to 90 percent. Combined with features like a configurable Pot & Pan Mode and a Programmable De-Lime Alert, the CLeN turns dishwashing into a science.
The NRA KI Award for the CLeN comes after it was also recognized and featured in the WHAT’s HOT! WHAT’S COOL product gallery at the NAFEM Show 2017 in February. Hobart is taking its first orders for the CLeN Energy Recovery, the CLeN Advansys and the CLeN Base this month. It will also be on display at the upcoming NRA Show 2017, May 20-23 in Chicago at McCormick Place.
