Houston-based restaurant consulting group, A’la Carte Foodservice Consulting Group (A’la Carte) adds international chef, Omar Pereney, to its consulting team to assist clients with menu creation and new concepts. Pereney joins A’la Carte after eight years working as a chef in both the United States and Latin America, where he began his successful career at the age of 16.

In his new role at A’la Carte, Pereney will assist clients with their seasonal menus and work with clients who are developing new concepts. As a culinary expert with experience spanning many cultures and markets, his first projects with A’la Carte are based in Houston, Louisiana and Belize. Complementing his skills in the culinary arts, Omar brings his knowledge of and passion for videography to A’la Carte by creating custom kitchen and menu training videos.

“I am incredibly eager to work alongside the top restaurant consultants in the industry at A’la Carte,” says Pereney. “My new role is an ideal opportunity to combine my culinary and creative passions and I am excited to contribute to the success of A’la Carte and its clients.”

Pereney’s culinary experience began as an executive chef at Dalai Restaurant & Lounge in his hometown of Caracas, Venezula, while Pereney was still in high school. After starring in a Venezuelan television show, “Yo Cocinero,” for four seasons, he became an instructor at Le Cordon Bleu. Pereney helped develop the Mexican restaurant Peska Seafood Culture in Houston in 2015. Pereney is also in the process of becoming a certified sommelier.

“Omar will be an excellent addition to my network of consultants,” says Chris Tripoli, president and founder of A’la Carte. “His approach to food creates excitement. It’s pure, fresh and simplistic.”

Throughout the past 22 years, A’la Carte Foodservice Consulting Group has continued to add services to maintain its competitive edge in the industry and succeed in the current digital age. These services include restudying restaurant market niches, improving staff training methods and experimenting with technology in the kitchen. With the addition of Pereney, clients will now have access to professional custom videos for training and online promotion. At the core of its mission, A’la Carte assists its international client base of restaurant owners and operators seeking to improve, expand or start a new restaurant concept. Mainly focusing on small and growing restaurants, the A’la Carte team helps increase effectiveness, consistency and revenue, while working to create an improved work environment.
