Kevin Lind has been appointed director of food and beverage for the new Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina, which will debut in Montauk in May. As the third property for Gurney’s Resorts and second Montauk resort for the growing brand, Gurney’s Star Island will be a luxury waterfront retreat loaded with amenities and services including a selection of casual and fine dining restaurants and the largest marina in the Hamptons. In his new role, Lind will provide strategic direction for the property’s food and beverage program and oversee dining experiences at The Pool Club, Il Forno Market, and Showfish, the resort’s engaging signature seafood restaurant featuring a locally sourced menu and daily catches.

Lind joins Gurney’s Star Island with culinary expertise from two of the world’s top Michelin rated restaurants, Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad. During his time as service director at Eleven Madison Park, the restaurant was named the number one restaurant in the world and earned three Michelin Stars, The James Beard Award for Outstanding Service and the Trentino Art of Hospitality Award for World’s Best Service. Most recently, Lind served as general manager for Eleven Madison Park’s popup dining concepts, EMP Summer House in the Hamptons and EMP Winter House in Aspen.

“Kevin’s impressive food and beverage pedigree and expert knowledge of the hospitality industry makes him a welcome addition to the team at Gurney’s Star Island,” says owner George Filopoulos. “We are confident in Kevin’s ability to create a unique dining experience for our guests and look forward to his efforts to put Showfish on the map as a top culinary destination.”

Situated on Montauk’s most pristine stretch of oceanfront real estate, the flagship property Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is a Hampton’s institution and the only four-season resort on Montauk. Providing guests with direct access to a 2,000 ft. private sand beach, 146 rooms, suites and beachfront cottages, each. Gurney’s Newport debuted in 2017 with 257 renovated guestrooms, four restaurants, pools, spa, fitness center and the largest meeting space in the region. In 2018, Gurney’s acquired The Montauk Yacht Club, expanding its footprint in the Hamptons and debuting as Gurney’s Montauk Star Island & Marina, in Spring 2019. Under ownership led by George Filopoulos and Lloyd Goldman, the multi-phased updates to each of the properties have led them to be market leaders and year-round.
