Lupe Tortilla, an authentic Tex-Mex institution, has officially opened its first of four Dallas-area locations in Las Colinas. Located at 3131 Regent Boulevard, the new-build restaurant is thrilled to bring its fresh, unique dishes to the DFW area.

“The Dallas community has already been very welcoming,” says Judson Holt, CEO and president of Lupe Tortilla. “Irving is such a great area, and we’re proud to bring our fresh, hand-crafted dishes to those in Dallas that aren’t familiar with us and bring favorites to customers that know us from Austin, Houston or San Antonio.”

Lupe Tortilla’s plans for expansion in North Texas include a second location at 4535 Belt Line Road in Addison opening late summer 2019, a third location in Allen opening later in 2019 and a Fort Worth location set to open in the first quarter of 2020. Staying true to their roots, each restaurant embodies a fun, comfortable atmosphere to match the authenticity of their dishes. The Las Colinas location offers plenty of space throughout the restaurant and patio, colorful design details and a special nod to the community with a sign reading “Hecho en Irving.” Patrons can enjoy favorites from the menu, which features over 60 made-from-scratch items including the world-famous sizzling lime and pepper marinated beef and chicken fajitas served alongside their soft, warm, hand-pressed flour and corn tortillas that are made in-house to order.

In each dish, Lupe Tortilla has conducted meticulous product research to ensure customers are consuming the highest possible quality product for the price point. They take the time to craft each of their recipes and source their ingredients, from finding the best local produce, to visiting the farm where they obtain their chickens. Lupe Tortilla continues to set the standard in casual dining by using only high-quality cuts of meat, starting with fresh-cut tomatoes for salsa, making margaritas with hand-squeezed lime juice, preparing soft, warm hand-rolled flour and hand-pressed corn tortillas made in house to order and cooking all items in small batches to ensure freshness and much more.

From humble beginnings, the original Lupe Tortilla opened its doors in 1983, situated in a 1940s frame house in the outskirts of Houston. After growing up in the business and watching their father successfully nurture the first location, Judson and Peter joined the family business in 1997 upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America. Today, Lupe Tortilla carries that same family-operated mentality in overseeing their 1,600 (and growing) employees. The brothers and their talented corporate team work passionately to cultivate a fun, welcoming atmosphere where customers, staff and product always come first with the fresh, high-quality Tex-Mex served in 20 locations throughout Texas

“We started small, but the demand for quality food has grown tremendously over the years. Our expansion is a testament to that,” Holt adds. “We’ve loved reading and hearing comments from customers in Dallas who have asked us to come here for years. It’s exciting to finally open our doors in North Texas.”
