Margaux’s Restaurant joins the ranks of Bloomsbury Bistro and Angus Barn as one of Raleigh, North Carolina’s most venerable dining establishments as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. One of the area’s true and original destination restaurants, Margaux’s remains relevant 25 years on, and continues to create memorable experiences, nightly.

Founder, Co-owner and General Manager, Steve Horowitz, says, “When we started in 1992, we set out to become gastronomic pioneers through ever-evolving menus and by pushing the envelope of excellence in service.” He adds, “And we’re just getting started. Margaux’s remains true to its foundational spirit, ready to surprise and excite discerning diners in inventive new ways.”

“Celebrated chef Mario Batali famously said, ‘Spaghetti is love.’ Well, at Margaux’s, good food and great company are love,” adds Horowitz. The restaurant encourages people to put away their devices and be in the moment of a truly unforgettable experience. “Put your time and palate in our hands and we will work hard to excite your senses and leave you with a memory you won’t soon forget,” says Horowitz.

Margaux’s considers itself the perfect fusion of high-energy metropolis and soulful southern hospitality, where contemporary French, Mediterranean and Pacific Rim cuisine comes alive using only the freshest ingredients.

This momentous anniversary arrives on the heels of the restaurant’s annual Lobster Fest, always a sellout event. And Margaux’s highly regarded Head Chef and Co-owner, Andrew Pettifer, is honored to be at the helm of an always energetic and endlessly creative kitchen. Chef Pettifer says, “My staff and I always look to strike a balance between what’s new in the culinary world and what customers have enjoyed for years.”

Recent 25th anniversary fare has stretched from grilled grouper with lump tomato saffron cream to pan roasted duck with parmesan polenta and blueberry gastrique. Chef Pettifer says, “composing an ever-changing nightly menu is so rewarding. It allows us to take ingredients at peak quality and turn them into imaginative dishes, night after night.” He continues, “You can come to Margaux’s practically every night for 25 years, as some of our patrons have done, and enjoy a unique experience each time. Where else can you do that in Raleigh?”

Under the guidance of Steve Horowitz and Andrew Pettifer, Margaux’s has earned its place as an award-winning and inviting restaurant ideal for special occasions, a casual weeknight dinner or large group event.

Looking ahead, the restaurant plans to host its first-ever oyster festival, with outdoor grills and tasty new ways to appreciate this delicacy. For the staff of Margaux’s and its many loyal patrons, the next 25 years starts now.
