New GM and Chef Named at Del Frisco’s Grille Brookfield Place

Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group welcomed General Manager Sherwin Levitis and Executive Chef Christopher Dertinger as the team leading both management and culinary operations at Del Frisco’s Grille Brookfield Place. The pair has worked together since 2013 at Del Frisco’s Grille Rockefeller Center and will open the newest location of the popular restaurant at Brookfield Place on June 21, 2017.

With more than ten years of hospitality experience, Sherwin Levitis cultivates an environment where high standards and impeccable service directly translate to exemplary guest experiences. Part of the Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group team since 2013, Levitis was most recently General Manager of Del Frisco’s Grille in Rockefeller Center, where he led a team of more than one hundred employees, exceling in restaurant operations, staff training and guest service at the Grille’s flagship location. Prior to joining Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Levitis was general manager of STK Downtown.

“I look forward to leading my team in providing exciting menu options in a buzzing atmosphere for guests on a daily basis,” says Levitis. “Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group is known for pairing a lively, social setting with unmatched hospitality, and this will be the foundation of Del Frisco’s Grille Brookfield Place.”

In the role of executive chef, Christopher Dertinger will oversee kitchen operations and culinary innovation, ensuring consistent delivery of outstanding cuisine. Chef Dertinger brings more than twenty years of experience in numerous upscale dining concepts including Morton’s Steakhouse and South Fin Grill and has been a part of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group since 2013 when he joined the team as a sous chef at Del Frisco’s Grille Rockefeller Center.

“I’m excited to introduce lower Manhattan to the Grille, where we combine the hand cut steaks and expansive wine collection Del Frisco’s is typically known for with upscale versions of classic American dishes,” says Dertinger. “I’m confident the experience Sherwin and I gained while in Rockefeller Center will set us up for success here in the Financial District.”

As an upscale-casual destination, Del Frisco’s Grille brings a new dining option to the sophisticated and lively environment in Brookfield Place. By fostering strong teamwork and culinary excellence, Levitis and Dertinger look forward to establishing Del Frisco’s Grille as the restaurant of choice in downtown Manhattan’s Financial District.
