Old Chicago – a division of CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries, Inc. and the made-from-scratch American fare, pizza and beer authority known for its “World Beer Tour” and 110 unique, cold beers – launched its annual “I Love Beer” Mini Beer Tour today, Wednesday, Jan. 25, to give beer lovers the opportunity to celebrate their passion for a cold one just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The I Love Beer Mini Tour runs through Tuesday, Feb. 14, and allows guests to craft their own Mini Tours with eight of their favorite beers.

And, this year, select markets will really feel the love with exclusive beers made available just for this Tour.

Old Chicago’s World Beer Tour members who complete the I Love Beer Mini Tour will receive the highly coveted Mini Tour T-shirt with a new I Love Beer design that was chosen by Old Chicago’s loyal guests.

The I Love Beer Mini Tour celebrations kick off on Wednesday evening, Jan. 25, with tapping parties for specialty beers chosen locally at each of the restaurant chain’s nearly 100 locations nationwide.

Guests who visit Old Chicago restaurants in Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, Wisconsin or Oregon, for example, can try the exclusive, Colorado-brewed Oskar Blues HGH (Home Grown Hops) part DUH!, a strong ale brewed with hops grown at Oskar Blues’ Longmont, Colo., Hops and Heifers Farm.

Another I Love Beer exclusive for Colorado beer lovers is Chainbreaker IPA from Portland, Ore.-based Deschutes. This IPA is not available to the public until March, and Old Chicago’s Colorado locations are the first to offer it outside of Oregon.

Sam Adams Alpine Spring Unfiltered Lager also has been added to Old Chicago’s extensive beer list for I Love Beer, and will be available in all restaurant locations.

“The I Love Beer Mini Tour is special because it celebrates Old Chicago’s passion for beer, and it allows guests to show their love for the beers we serve by creating Tours with their personal favorites,” says Mark Newman, director of beverage for Old Chicago.

“We’re excited to see the unlimited combinations of beers that will be grouped together for this Tour based on our guests’ preferences, and we anticipate the limited-time, I Love Beer Tour exclusive beers will be popular additions to many of them.”

Sam Adams and Oskar Blues beer experts will be visiting several restaurants to host tastings and answer questions about their beers during the I Love Beer Mini Tour. Guests interested in attending one of those sessions, or the Wednesday, Jan. 25, Tour kick-off tapping parties, are encouraged to contact their local restaurant for details.
