Perkins Honors Franchisees, Operators, and Suppliers
Perkins Restaurant & Bakery celebrated its 60th Anniversary at the recent 2018 Perkins Brand Conference held in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Attended by over 450 franchisees, operators and company representatives, the Diamond Anniversary conference focused on the theme of “brilliance” of self, team, and brand—and included the announcement of Kevin Jones as the Perkins 2017 Franchisee of the Year; Custom Foods of America as Supplier of the Year; and Robert Fox from the North Port, Florida as General Manager of the Year.
Perkins & Marie Callender’s president & CEO, Jeff Warne, says, “Our 60th Anniversary milestone is in large part testament to the hard work, dedication and contributions of our franchisees, operators and suppliers. They have helped shape our history, contributed to who we are today, and will continue to play a vital role in upholding the future of our brand.”
Award recipients included:
2017 Franchisee of the Year: Kevin Jones leads five restaurant teams that make up the Ahnert Ownership Group—specifically the Perkins Restaurants & Bakeries located in Matamoras and East Stroudsburg, PA; and Middletown, Wappingers Falls and Newburgh, New York. Mr. Warne states, “Kevin has an unmatched passion for the Perkins brand and its people. He is driven to be best in class and exemplifies overall excellence in operations and brand standards; leadership that inspires others; and significant contributions to the improvement of the system.”
2017 Supplier of the Year: A partner with Perkins since 2013, Custom Foods of America was recognized as the Company’s 2017 Supplier of the Year. Larry Taylor, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Perkins & Marie Callender’s remarks, “Since our partnership began, this company continues to impress us with consistent products, innovative menu ideas and unparalleled customer service.”
2017 General Manager of the Year: Robert Fox, General Manager of the North Port, Florida Perkins Restaurant & Bakery located at 6001 S. Salford Boulevard, has had positive sales in his restaurant every year since 2012. A veteran of the US Army, he started his career with Perkins as a Service Manager in 2008; was promoted to General Manager in 2010; and has been consistently recognized for running some of the highest quality assurance and guest satisfaction scores in the system.
Over the past six decades, Perkins has expanded to include nearly 400 restaurants. The family dining chain has preserved the appeal of its original personality while ever evolving to stay relevant and fresh. Guests are attracted to the updated, contemporary facilities; expanding and innovative menu items; and unique, freshly prepared bakery options—while continuing to count on the reliable quality, value, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is reinforcing this positive image with a “Kindness Served Daily” campaign to celebrate its 60th year and its company-wide culture of kindness. The campaign will be supported by TV, radio, print, digital and social media.
