Schedulefly, a company that provides web-based restaurant staff scheduling software for independent restaurants, has launched a video series in 2012 featuring interviews with successful restaurant owners. The videos are designed to offer practical advice, wisdom, and thought-provoking ideas for aspiring, new, and veteran restaurateurs.

"We are stoked to have the opportunity to produce this series," says Wil Brawley, a partner at Schedulefly. "We feel lucky that so many amazing owners are willing to offer their thoughts on how to succeed in the restaurant business."

Brawley said the idea for the videos came from the success of the book he and Schedulefly published, "Restaurant Owners Uncorked: Twenty Owners Share Their Recipe for Success." The book, a collection of interviews with 20 owners, was published in 2011 and has sold nearly 5,000 copies. Brawley and his partners realized that a great extension of the book would be to capture the same type of content on video.

Restaurant Owners Uncorked contains several videors per owner, and has featured eight owners so far, including Michael Chernow and Daniel Holzman of The Meatball Shop in NYC, Dave Query of Big Red F Restaurants in Boulder, and Chris Sommers of Pi Pizzeria in St. Louis. The plan is to produce around three videos per owner and to interview ten new owners every year. "We hope to produce 30 videos annually," says Brawley. "There's an endless supply of excellent advice and wisdom from the thousands of successful restaurant owners Schedulefly is fortunate to serve with our scheduling software."

"I'm very proud to be a part of the series," says Scott Maitland of Top of the Hill Restaurant and Brewery in Chapel Hill, N.C. "The folks at Schedulefly are making a great investment into the independent restaurant community by creating this series, and I've enjoyed both sharing my own advice and learning from my peers."
