S&D Coffee & Tea, the nation’s largest custom coffee roaster and supplier of iced tea to the foodservice industry, recently introduced a new “swivel” tea brew funnel, designed for use with S&D filter pack tea in dual tea brewers.
The unit’s proprietary, patent-pending design rotates to the left and right, brewing directly over dual slim line tea urns. Because it is no longer necessary to reposition dispensers, the swivel tea brew funnel saves space, adds convenience and safety, reduces time and eliminates unnecessary lifting.
“We recognized a need for a basket option that was compatible with dual tea brewers, and after an array of tests and prototypes, a new and improved brew funnel was developed with the added swivel function,” says Tony D’Amico, vice president of equipment administration & service. “We feel this innovation gives our customers an operational advantage while maintaining the fresh brewed tea flavor they have come to expect from S&D.”
The NSF-certified swivel tea brew funnel achieves the same level of tea extraction as with S&D’s original patented rectangular brew basket and features many of the same benefits, including:
- A deep well on the bottom of the funnel that creates a vacuum with the filter pack, allowing water to flow through the filter pack evenly
- A basket that creates a perfect fit with the filter pack so water cannot bypass the filter
The result is better quality-iced tea that has consistently more flavor and color and is never weak or bitter.
The new swivel tea brew funnel will be on display in S&D’s booth (#3431) at the upcoming NRA Show, held May 21—24 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
