Carlos Lopez, senior vice president with S&D Coffee & Tea, was named to the board of directors for World Coffee Research (WCR), a non-profit, collaborative research and development program for the global coffee industry. 

As a board member, Lopez will help set the vision and direction for the organization, giving operational guidance and making decisions on the scope of research and programming. He will serve a three-year term. 

“S&D Coffee & Tea has been involved with WCR since its inception in 2012, and I am proud that my board appointment represents the latest chapter in S&D’s partnership with the organization,” says Lopez. “Working alongside the WCR staff, researchers, member companies and other partners, my fellow board members and I will remain focused on impacting the viability and livelihood of coffee purveyors and facilitating projects that seek to deliver higher quality coffee and more productive coffee farms.”

Lopez has significant experience in strategic planning, sales leadership and business development and has worked in the coffee industry for more than six years. In his current role, he is responsible for managing S&D Coffee & Tea’s national accounts.
