Restaurants throughout the nation’s capital are giving dinners plenty of reasons to give thanks this holiday season by offering a cornucopia of culinary offerings to make Thanksgiving memorable. Many are offering either stress-free to-go options or the chance to celebrate the holiday in an elegant dining room.

701 Restaurant, located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave., NW will be dishing out a classic Thanksgiving feast with a three-course, prix fixe holiday menu available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. This special meal is priced at $48 per person and $24 for children 12 and younger, excluding tax and gratuity. Executive Chef Ed Witt will be preparing a variety of choices such as Duck Confit served with Foie Gras Grits, Collard Greens, and Huckleberry; Smoked Shrimp & Pumpkin Salad with Frisée, Sherry Vinaigrette, and Maple Walnuts; or Sweet Potato Soup made with Apple Compote and Brûlée Marshmallow. For the main course guests can chose from Roasted Turkey Breast made with Crispy Leg, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Giblet Gravy, and Cranberry Sauce; Snapper served with Cabbage Foundue, Pear, Lobster, and Pickled Mushrooms; or Eco-Friendly Suckling Pig, Sage Sausage Stuffing, Pumpkin, Brussels Sprouts, and Maple Syrup Gastrique. A vegetarian dish of Chestnut & Autumn Squash Ravioli made with Sage Brown Butter and Ricotta Salata will also be offered. For the perfect ending, guests can opt for Bourbon Pecan Pie served with Vanilla Ice Cream or the Pumpkin Mousse Cake served with Maple Walnut Cream and Honey Tuile. Thanksgiving guests at The Bombay Club, located at 815 Connecticut Ave., NW, will be delighted to find the return of the popular Thanksgiving Day special, Tandoori Turkey in addition to the full a la carte menu. Executive Chef Nilesh Singhvi’s Tandoori Turkey–boneless chunks of white meat marinated in Indian pickling spices and cooked in a clay oven, served with cranberry chutney and Brussels sprouts poriyal–is priced at $19.95 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. The Thanksgiving menu is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Bombay Club offers valet parking for $8. Just across the street at sister restaurant, The Oval Room, located at 800 Connecticut Ave., NW, Executive Chef Tony Conte is preparing a three-course holiday menu offered from 12 to 8 p.m., priced at $50 per person, excluding gratuity and tax. Serving up flavors of the season in an innovative fashion, Chef Conte will feature a menu that includes Sweet Potato Agnolotti with Brown Butter & Aged Balsamic Vinegar, as well as the Foie Gras Terrine served with Green Apple, Vanilla, and Brioche. Standout main courses include Free Range Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Sweet Potato Puree, and Cranberry Sauce; Atlantic Skate with Red Curry Emulsion, Autumn Roots, and Tubers, as well asToasted Farro Tagliatelle with Foraged Mushrooms and Rosemary. The special turkey dish is priced at $16, excluding gratuity and tax. Ardeo+Bardeo, located at 3111 Connecticut Ave., NW, will be featuring a sumptuous three-course menu crafted by Executive Chef Nate Garyantes featuring some of the finest flavors of the harvest. Menu highlights include Wild Mushroom Risotto with Black Truffle Emulsion; Spinach Salad with Gnocchi; Crispy Lamb Chops with Meyer Lemon "Jam," Pistachios, and Mint; Extra Virgin Olive Oil-Poached Cod with Black Lentils, Spanish Chorizo, and Salsa Verde, as well asRoast Turkey with Yukon Gold Puree, Chestnut, and Quince Dressing and Natural Jus. A scrumptious dessert menu will feature old classics taken to delicious new heights. Bibiana Osteria-Enoteca located at 1100 New York Ave. NW (entrance on 12th and H Streets side) will be offering an authentic Italian twist on Thanksgiving. The pre-fixe menu is priced at $48 per person, excluding gratuity and tax, and will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Executive Chef Nicholas Stefanelli’s tempting starters include Sicilian Almond Soup with Crispy Beef Terrine and Black Garlic Purée; Salt Roasted Beets; Green Apple; Green Apple Horseradish Purée; and Hazelnuts and Rice Fritters Stuffed with Mozzarella and Prosciutto and Tomato Sauce. Situated in the Southwest Waterfront at 1101 4th St., SW, Station 4 is offering a four-course, pre-fixe seasonal menu priced at $30 per person from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Thanksgiving. In addition to a complimentary sparkling glass of wine upon arrival, guests will receive both a starter of Pumpkin Bisque with Pumpkin Praline and Maple Syrup Foam, as well as a Warm Sweet Potato-Crab Salad with Endives, Oranges, Walnut, and Dill Vinaigrette. Next, Executive Chef Orlando Amaro will invite guests to select from two standout entrées including the Thanksgiving Leftovers Shepherd’s Pie and Turkey with Dried Fruit and Pork, Cranberry Orange Relish, and Ciabatta Stuffing of Chestnuts and Pancetta. Diners will then get the chance to choose between several smaller casseroles and an assortment of tempting side dishes that include Zinfandel Risotto with Roasted Beets and Walnuts. BlackSalt Fish Market & Restaurant, located at 4883 MacArthur Blvd., NW, has everything you need for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner. Food orders can be made from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily through Sunday, Nov. 20, and all pick-ups will be scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 23.  The menu begins with a choice of all natural, certified humane Murray’s Turkeys raised in Pennsylvania Amish Country. Turkeys are priced at $4.99 per pound, and available in three sizes: 10-14 pounds, 14-18 pounds and 18-22 pounds. For $2 more per pound, BlackSalt Chefs will brine your Turkey with seasonings and fresh herbs so it just needs to be popped in the oven for roasting. Legal Sea Foods is urging dinners to take a step back in time to the first Thanksgiving, when people were said to have dined on shellfish and fish. The traditional stuffed turkey feast will also be available and it includes sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, and cranberry sauce. This Thanksgiving feast is priced at $21.95 per person, and $7.95 for children 12 and younger. Starting Nov. 1, Legal Sea Foods will also offer a gift card promotion available through the end of the year. For every $200 purchased in gift cards, customers will receive a lobster dinner on the house. The lobster dinner voucher will be good for use from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2012. Guests of 1789 Restaurant will look forward to a tempting Thanksgiving menu with both an a la carte and pre-fixe option. The recent arrival of Executive Chef Anthony Lombardo with Pastry Chef Mallory Staley brings a new twist on classics sure to please in this elegant Georgetown setting.
