James Beard Foundation Unveils Lineup for Annual Food Summit

What do Americans want from their food? How can we engage consumers to encourage companies and governments to provide the healthful and delicious food everyone wants to eat? These are just a few of the questions the James Beard Foundation will delve into at its eighth annual James Beard Foundation’s Food Summit: Consuming Power, taking place at the Convene Conference Center (730 Third Avenue) on October 23 and 24.

Danny Meyer to Receive 3rd Annual Julia Child Award

The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts announced that Danny Meyer, CEO and Founder of Union Square Hospitality Group, is the recipient of the third annual Julia Child Award. Meyer, the first recipient who is a restaurateur rather than a chef, will receive the Award at the National Museum of American History during a gala on October 26.

The James Beard Foundation announced that tickets for the fifth anniversary year of the Taste America national culinary tour are now on sale at jamesbeard.org/taste-america-tickets.
