The Taste of Czech Culinary Roadshow will arrive in Bay Area, California on September 25. The one-night event will be hosted by the Czech Tourism Authority, which aims to share the love of Czech food with people across the country.

The Czech School of California is the main local partner sponsoring the event. The event is part of a national tour with stops in Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City. Vojtech Kacerovsky, the director of Czech Tourism in Los Angeles expects the event to be very well attended.

“Czech food is one of the things people miss most when they leave the country, and we want to not only let people experience it, but teach them how to make it on their own,” says the Honorary consul for California Richard Pivnicka.

The Taste of Czech Culinary Roadshow provides the unique opportunity of learning how to create Czech dishes from the renowned Czech chef, Jakub Cerny. Cerny has worked in various five star hotels in Prague and London including The Ledbury, Gordon Ramsey´s restaurant at Claridge´s Hotel, and the Pollen Street Social. He was also the chef at Fischer Fritz in Berlin before coming to work for the Michelin Star Awarded restaurant Alcron at the Raddison Blu Alcron Hotel in Prague.

“I was born in the capital city of Prague and I always knew I wanted to be a chef,” Cerny says. “All of my training has opened my eyes about how things work in a professional kitchen and I love sharing my passion for Czech food and wine.”
