As the popularity of Ramen continues to rise, a new restaurant, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, will soon begin welcoming guests to experience what it describes as “… the most authentic Ramen experience,” at the restaurant chain’s first location in Indiana.

The Indianapolis-area restaurant is located in Carmel at Cool Creek Commons. Leading up to its official grand opening on April 2, the Tokyo-based restaurant chain will begin inviting guests to the restaurant as part of a soft opening from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. on March 30 and March 31.

Known for its authentic Ramen dishes, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya prepares the ingredients for its fresh-made entrees daily. Every dish served is made to order and customized with a choice of 15 different toppings—everything from Chicken Chashu, Bamboo Shoots, Fish Cake, Flavored Broth and Fatty Pork Belly Chashu to Woodear Mushrooms, Roasted Seaweed, Beansprouts, Tofu, Scallions, and more.

“We are passionate about our Ramen,” says Jessmin Lau, partner and culinary director for Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya USA. “Our philosophy at Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya is to serve the most traditional, authentic and delicious Japanese ramen that you can possibly experience outside of Japan.”

She continues, “We are especially pleased to welcome everyone to visit our restaurant in Carmel and experience for themselves our fresh-made Ramen and Izakaya menu selections, alongside our fresh variety of toppings.”

Prepared to satisfy seemingly every taste, the Ramen served at Kizuki features distinctive flavors, much of which comes from their unique cooking process that includes roasting their bones to perfection to give their broth a deep, complex. and rich texture. The intense preparation of their housemade broth takes up to 20 hours.

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya offers many different Signature Ramen dishes, including:

Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen: Extra rich specialty, shoyu-flavored Pork broth with fresh garlic; Yuzu Shio Ramen featuring French Sea Salt, Kelp and made with a Japanese Citrus Base; Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen with rich Pork Broth flavored with Yamaguchi Soy Sauce, and topped with black garlic oil; Chicken Rich Ramen, an all-chicken entrée with a hearty broth topped with Chicken Chashu; Miso Ramen consisting of a rich Pork Broth blended with Hokkaido Miso and a garlic paste.

As the perfect complement to its Ramen, Kizuki’s Izakaya menu offers a myriad of flavorful selections, including: Agedeshi (deep fried) Tofu; Chicken Karaage; House-made Crispy Chicken Wings; Chilled Tofu (drizzled with Soy Sauce); Edamame (boiled soybeans/salt); Geso Karaage (squid tentacles); Gyoza (pan-fried dumplings); House Salad (with soft Tofu); Japanese Pork Bun (Tender Pork Belly); Karaage Salad (with deep fried chicken); Onigiri (Japanese rice ball); Potato Croquette; Prawn Cutlet; Spinach Goma-Ae (boiled spinach); Takoyaki Octopus Dumplings; Vegetable Tempura.

Rounding out its menu is a selection of rice dishes, including Chicken Chasu Don (poached chicken), Karaage Don (chicken Karaage with salad greens), Pork Chashu Don (grilled Chashu with seaweed), and Ten Don (assortment of tempura vegetables and shrimp).

An Izakaya is an informal Japanese gastropub. Accordingly, the restaurant also offers a selection of Japanese craft beers and sake.

With the opening of its new (franchise-owned) location in Indiana, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya is serving guests at eight locations in the U.S. In addition to six restaurants in the Pacific Northwest, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya recently opened a new location in the Chicago neighborhood of Wicker Park.
