Daily Grill Expands Low-Calorie Menu Through Launched ‘Simply 600’ Selections

Daily Grill announced its new Simply 600 menu items at locations across Southern California, satisfying guests’ cravings for dishes packed with flavor, but not calories. The locally inspired menu features new items for lunch and dinner, all at 600 calories or less. 

“Our Simply 600 lunch and dinner dishes have grown to become favorites among guests at all of our restaurants for the past three years,” says John Sola, executive vice president of operations. “Since we initially launched the Simply 600 menu in 2012, it has surged to comprise up to 20 percent of daily sales. To meet the growing demand for these items, we are launching nine new Simply 600 menu items to give our guests new options to experience the same flavorful meals with lower calories.” 

The menu offers salad lovers expanded menu selections including Organic Watermelon and Cucumber Salad, Red Quinoa and Arugula Salad, Pan-Seared Barramundi with Greek Salad, and Ahi Tuna Nicoise Salad. Guests with gluten sensitivities will also experience extended menu choices, in addition to the salads, including Thai Spiced Steak Lettuce Cups, Green Tea Poached Wild Salmon, and Grilled Vegetable Plate.

“Eating well doesn’t necessarily mean sacrificing the flavor of a dish,” Executive Chef Phil Kastel says. “Through the new Simply 600 menu, our culinary team has focused on broadening the variety of options given to Daily Grill guests, while incorporating healthful ingredients packed with flavor. Recipes are made from scratch each day, allowing the natural flavors of ingredients like watermelon, arugula, and heirloom tomatoes to shine in these dishes.” 

Rounding out the revamped Simply 600 menu are Pan-Crisp Jidori Chicken, an all-natural chicken breast with dried fruits, olive, and almonds served with grilled asparagus and sautéed quinoa; Simply Grilled Trout, a sustainable Idaho Trout served with grilled asparagus; and Chicken & Heirloom Tomato Caprese, a grilled herb chicken breast, served with fresh Mozzarella, organic heirloom tomatoes, arugula, and a balsamic glaze. 

All Simply 600 menu items are 600 calories or less; while substitutions are allowed, it may alter the caloric intake and surpass the 600-calorie count. The Simply 600 menu is available for lunch and dinner at all the Daily Grill locations in Southern California.
