East Dallas' Blind Butcher Now Offering Brunch

Blind Butcher, located in the eclectic Lowest Greenville Avenue neighborhood of East Dallas, is a playful pub-like restaurant with a full bar and lively back patio. The new brunch menu is being served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Blind Butcher is a place where one will discover fine-dining quality food yet in a comfortable and casual setting. In addition to the new brunch menu, the restaurant serves dinner everyday with a late-night menu option until 1:45 a.m. Thursday through Saturday nights. 

Executive Chef Oliver Sitrin says, “I try to not over think or overdue it. I grew up eating these things and playing around with their ingredients—pate, hand-cranked sausages and charcuterie. It’s fun and creative food that pairs well with our cocktails, beer and wine.” 

Sitrin’s menu is a combination of almost every cuisine he has experienced in his lifetime and he calls it “worldly local.” He cures all meats and grinds and hand cranks the sausages in-house. Chef/Partner Sitrin makes mustard, potato chips, some of the cheeses, flavors the goat cheese as well as vinegar and ferments vegetables and much more in-house.

The bar menu offers a large selection of draft beers—local, American, and European. The wine list is an affordable selection from around the world and the cocktails are simple and fresh. Co-owner Yingling explains, “This is not just a place about beer. We want the food to shine and the bar menu to complement the food.We have taken a lot of time to build the bar offerings to appropriately accompany Oliver’s menu. It’s about the entirety of a great dining experience we want to give our guests.”

Blind Butcher is a cozy space with authentic and existing design elements. The original building structure dates back to the 1920s. Co-owner Ryan Chaney, of artisan construction company 44 Build, created a space that honors the original integrity of the building and explains it as ‘art-deco industrial’. Yingling and Tobin along with their partners created a unique restaurant that combines a range of flavors and drink from all over the world in a relaxed environment.
