Michigan Celebrates Small Businesses, an annual awards program, has named Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill one of Michigan’s 50 companies to watch.

Aubree’s will receive its award May 6 during an event at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. The awards program honors companies in Michigan that demonstrate high performance in the marketplace or exhibit innovative products or processes.

“We were thrilled to be honored as a company to watch in Michigan,” says Aubree’s founder Bill French. “Our commitment to providing great food, friendly service, and giving back to our communities is important to us. Receiving such a high honor is tangible proof that we are succeeding at reaching our goals.”

Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill is headquartered in Ypsilanti, the site of its original location. It is the lone representative on the Michigan Celebrates Small Businesses list from Ypsilanti and is one of a small handful of restaurants on the list.

“Over the years, very few restaurants have been named one of Michigan’s 50 companies to watch,” says Aubree’s president Andy French. “It is a huge honor to be included on such an exclusive list, especially since it is so rare for restaurants to be honored in this way.”

Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill has six restaurants and plans to open two more in the next several months. Aubree’s will open a location in South Lyon in May and another in Grand Blanc later this year.

“We are proud that our franchisees are continuing to invest and grow the Aubree’s brand,” Andy French says. “They have been terrific partners and we are looking forward to their continued success.”

Aubree’s is in the process of hiring more than 100 employees for each of its two new locations. It has more than 250 employees at its six Michigan locations.
