The Pizzuti Companies and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) announced the introduction of The Guild House, a farm-to-table concept at Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph, a new boutique hotel under construction in the Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio.

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Cameron Mitchell Restaurants to our new hotel,” says Joel S. Pizzuti, president of The Pizzuti Companies. “The new farm-to-table concept will be an exciting dining option unlike anything else in the Short North.”

“Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph will offer Columbus its first true full-service boutique hotel,” Pizzuti says. “In Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, we have a partner with the creativity, expertise, and experience necessary to provide our guests with the absolute finest in dining, room service, and banquet and special event catering services.”

“This year marks our 21st year in business, and we are excited to develop and open three new diverse restaurants in our hometown this year and next, including this announcement of plans for The Guild House. Our company truly enjoys the creation of something new, and the opportunity to introduce fresh, exciting concepts,” says Cameron Mitchell, CMR founder. “Continuing our growth with additional development in the Short North at an exceptional property like Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph is the perfect way to support our communities and give back to Columbus.”

Scheduled to open in January 2015 and occupy 6,000 square feet, The Guild House will have seating for more than 140 guests, and will include distinct dining spaces, a bar, and a private dining room for 10 guests. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will share valet services with Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph.

The one-of-a-kind vision for The Guild House includes a focus on celebrating and honoring sustainability, artistry, and global diversity, starting with a menu that is locally sourced from ingredients grown across the region. The restaurant’s name, The Guild House, is an ode to the CMR culinary development team, or “culinary guild,” that is collectively crafting this new concept from scratch and is a representation of CMR’s best culinary efforts.

The restaurant’s wine list will include wines from around the world, along with a diverse selection of wines from boutique wineries. Many of the wineries featured practice sustainable, organic, or biodynamic farming methods.

Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph, owned by Pizzuti and operated as a new Starwood property, is a 135-room boutique hotel currently under development on North High Street. It is scheduled to open in early 2015.

In addition to The Guild House, the hotel will have a signature bar, two deluxe spa suites, a 24-hour fitness center, and a state-of-the-art meeting and event space.

The hotel and restaurant are part of Pizzuti’s “The Joseph” development that includes a 60,000-square-foot office and retail building that will have a two-story Anthropologie retail store, a 313-space parking garage, and the Pizzuti Collection, exhibition space for the contemporary art collection of Ron Pizzuti, chairman and CEO of The Pizzuti Companies.

“The attention to detail and quality of services provided by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants are second to none,” Pizzuti says. “The combination of the Cameron Mitchell dining experience and a truly unique hotel atmosphere will make Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph the premier destination in Columbus.”

“We couldn’t be more pleased to introduce The Guild House just across the street from The Pearl and Marcella’s, and to deepen our roots in a place with the energy and vibrancy of the Short North,” says Mitchell. He said the company’s growth also provides opportunities for CMR’s current associates to further their careers within the company and to create new openings for future associates to join the CMR family.
