On February 21 through February 26, Executive Chef Mike Rakun of Marin Restaurant & Bar and Mill Valley Kitchen is letting his guests call all the shots. Chef Rakun took to the restaurants’ social media channels and let loyal diners select all the dishes that appear on the special Greatest Hits Menu. The week-long prix fixe menu will highlight some of Chef’s most beloved creations, and most importantly, a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

This bonus menu includes an array of star standouts chosen by Minneapolis locals. Marin’s menu, priced at $45 per person, kicks off with a choice between grilled romaine with marinated vegetables and feta cream or salmon belly; followed by scallops with lobster hash and corn sauce, which City Pages named as one of their “100 Favorite Dishes of 2013,” or tuna with gingered lentils, snap peas, and basil aioli; and finished off with the much-requested chocolate square from the restaurant’s opening menu with milk chocolate mousse, toasted hazelnut, espresso, and a edible gold leaf.

Mill Valley Kitchen’s menu, priced at $40 per person, features a choice between warm spinach salad with apples, goat cheese, and walnuts, or tuna poke with marinated ahi tuna potato, cucumber, avocado, and butter lettuce; the second course offers a pork tenderloin with coconut sweet potato and apple chutney, or grilled scallops with farro, romesco and kale; and the sweetest course is a key lime pie miniature.
