Applebee's

The DineEquity chain’s entire lineup of burgers with classic fries will cost just $6.99 September 18, a day known better as National Cheeseburger Day. The brand is also encouraging guests to step outside the bun with items like The Quesadilla Burger, made with Mexi-ranch sauce, bacon, pico de gallo, and shredded lettuce in a Jack & Cheddar quesadilla.

Some other suggestions include the All Day Brunch Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and The Classic. Perspective diners are encouraged to call their local Applebee’s to check if the location is offering the deal. There were 1,811 stores as of June 30.

Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries

The growing brand, with 137 locations in 12 states (and 1,000 franchises sold around the world) is taking National Cheeseburger Day to historic heights. From 5 p.m. until close, Hwy 55 will sell fresh, never frozen burgers topped with its secret seasonings and choice of cheese for 55 cents. The Lil’ Cheeseburger can be topped with 13 additional toppings at no additional cost—everything from grilled mushrooms to jalapeños.

The burger is normally $3.39 and will be limited to two per guest, for dine-in customers only. The goal, the brand says, is to set a record for most cheeseburgers sold by Hwy 55 in a single day. The famous 55 Challenge is also on the books. If a guest can eat a 55-ounce cheeseburger with seven patties and at least four trimmings, fries, and a 24-ounce drink in 30 minutes, it will be on the house. Fail and it will cost you $29.99.

“Hwy 55 is a true American success story and we are looking forward to celebrating National Cheeseburger Day with our wonderful fans and friends as they feast on our incredible hamburgers,” says Hwy 55 president Kenney Moore

Dog Haus

Yes, a concept known for hot dogs is celebrating its sister cuisine, the burger, in a major way. The fast casual calls its burgers “its secret weapon” and on Monday guests can upgrade their burger to a cheeseburger double for no additional cost at all 26 locations. Dog Haus, by the way, is the five-time reigning champion of Pasadena Cheeseburger Week.

Dog Haus’ burgers feature only humanely raised, genetically tested, 100 percent Black Angus beef using no hormones and no antibiotics

Wayback Burgers

Here’s an idea of how big Wayback Burgers expects this day to be: Locations of the 136-unit chain are preparing for 2,500 expected participants with 4,600 pounds of beef, 715 pounds of cheese, and 2,500 buns, tomato slices, and lettuce leaves. The company says it expects to eclipse $40,000 in Triple Triple sales on National Cheeseburger Day alone. What’s in store? The 10th annual Triple Triple Challenge will take place at stores across the country. Guests will try to eat the Triple Triple—a nine-patty burger with nine slices of yellow American Cheese topped with lettuce, tomato, and the bun—in the fastest time possible. The winner takes home $3,300, along with bragging rights. The three-time reigning champ is Molly Schuyler, who set the record in 2014 at 38.95 seconds. Check it out here.

“With 15 brand new Wayback Burgers locations spread across the country, we anticipate more contestants than ever will enter the fold for the Triple Triple challenge,” says Patrick Conlin, Wayback Burgers’ senior vice president. “While Molly continues to set the bar high as our three-time defending champ, we believe it will be more challenging than ever for her to retain the crown this year. We can’t wait for National Cheeseburger Day and what is shaping up to be the biggest and most successful Triple Triple Challenge competition to date”

Burger 21

Sometimes it pays to be loyal. Members of the chain’s Burger Fry Fanatics rewards program can log into their B Loyal app and redeem a coupon for a cheeseburger.

“Our Cheesy Burgers are a guest favorite and we’re thrilled to make them the star of the show for their own special day,” says Mark Johnston, president and founder of Burger 21. “National Cheeseburger Day is the perfect opportunity for us to reward our guests for their loyal support.”
