Faire Steak and Seafood was honored for its wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2015 Restaurant Wine List Awards.

The restaurant is recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers.

Faire Steak and Seafood opened October 2014 in Raleigh, North Carolina's Cameron Village. As a new restaurant without an established reputation, Faire’s sommelier, Michael Tinley, employed a phased approach to their wine list selections.

Tinley started by building the list from the ground up, selecting what they agreed should be staples for a wine list intended to match the restaurant’s “surf and turf” cuisine.

Over the nine-month period since Faire opened, Tinley has shaped the list to offer wines from all over the world, in addition to many of the necessary staples that remained from their original list.

During this period, Faire has increased the number of wine selections offered from 60 to nearly 100, adding lesser-known, more esoteric selections.

“We are honored to be recognized within the industry with such a prestigious award,” Faire says. “I believe our wine list and program has quickly become one of the best in Triangle, both in terms of quantity of selections, quality, and diversity.

The Award of Excellence will act as our inspiration as we plan to continue this gradual, progressive approach to growing our wine program and offerings at Faire.”

Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981.

There are three award levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award.

“Once again, Wine Spectator congratulates each and every Restaurant Award winner on a job well done,” says Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator. “With this year’s list spanning all 50 U.S. states and over 75 additional countries and territories, we hope wine lovers will use this issue, alongside WineSpectator.com's Restaurant Awards database, as guides to finding the perfect restaurant for any occasion.”
